Your resident portal is where you'll pay rent, set up autopay, and submit maintenance requests. Getting set up takes about five minutes.
Step 1: Check Your Email
When you're added to the lease, you'll get an email from Buildium inviting you to create your Resident Center account. Check your inbox — and your spam folder if you don't see it.
The email will come from a Buildium address and will include a link to activate your account.
Step 2: Create Your Account
Click the link in the email and set up your login with your email address and a password of your choice. Once you're in, you'll land on your Resident Center dashboard.
Step 3: Confirm Your Lease Details
Take a minute to review your lease info on the dashboard. You'll see the total rent amount listed — this is the collective lease amount for your whole house. Don't panic. You can pay your individual portion when it comes time to submit payment.
Step 4: Set Up Your Payment Method
Head to the payments section and add your preferred payment method:
- ACH / EFT — free. Connect your bank account and route number.
- Credit or debit card — a processing fee applies. This is passed through directly and not something Swift charges.
Step 5: Set Up Autopay (Optional but Recommended)
Once your payment method is added, you can enable autopay so rent is submitted automatically each month. You'll set the amount — enter your portion of the rent, not the full house total.
Step 6: Bookmark It
Save the portal link so you can find it easily each month. You'll also use it to submit any maintenance requests during your lease.
